Wolf Cut With Curtain Bangs

Wolf Cut With Curtain Bangs

In this blog post, I’m sharing how to cut my curtain bangs but before I get into it did you know that there are levels to bangs? Yes, there are different types of bangs; China bangs, French bangs, see-through bangs, long bangs, short bangs, full bangs, curtain bangs, and probably many more.

If you’re reading my blog frequently you might come across the blog article where I consider a wig with bangs beginner-friendly, you can read that blog post here. If you’re considering trying a wig but you have no knowledge of how to install your wig, you might go for a (non) closure wig with bangs. It’s easy to put on and take off, they wouldn’t give you any headaches.

Why

I wanted to have curtain bangs for a while because it seemed like everywhere I looked I saw curtain bangs and I fell in love with them. The only challenge was that I wanted to cut the bangs myself and I did some research on how I could do it myself. After watching a few videos I was convinced that I could do it myself too and I did.

Everything You Need To Know About The Wolf Haircut Trends

I decided to cut some curtain bangs on my easy everyday wig. This was actually the only good work-appropriate wig I had which means that I did not have room for mistakes. After installing the wig on my head, I went and wet the front section that I was going to cut and work on. I selected a section by using the highest part of my two eyebrows for the sides and 1, 5 – 2 inches to the back. This parting section was made in an angled section, so you basically end up with a triangle part.

Then I put the rest of my hair in a ponytail so that it would not be in the way. I twisted that ‘triangle’ section and I used my mouth as a guideline to cut my bangs. Then I cut the twisted section straight with my hair scissors. When you comb through that part of the hair that you just cut, you will see that it will go in an angled motion.

I also went and layered the two side sections of my hair. I did this by selecting one inch of hair on both sides of my head and I cut them in an angled motion. Then I went and styled my hair and that’s it. I have a video on YouTube where you can see how I styled my curtain bangs. I will place it for you below.

Thanks to TikTok though, there’s a new trend on the block – the wolf cut – and it’s easily the most ‘cool-girl’ style we’ve seen this year.

How

The #wolfcut trend on TikTok (which currently has 436.3 million views), sees brave users tie their hair in a high pony at the top of their head, then chop the end of the ponytail off bluntly, usually using a pair of kitchen scissors. Chaotic, I know. The end result is kind of a cross between a classic shag, and a modern mullet. Known as the wolf cut, presumably because of it’s kinda wild appearance, it’s easy to see why this trend is everywhere right now. It gives us effortlessly cool, serious rocker vibes, and we’re totally here for it.

The Top 15 Autumn Hairstyles For 2021

Now we’re not suggesting you take the DIY ‘kitchen scissors’ approach, that would be hugely irresponsible (and the results vary, as demonstrated by a few too many ambitious TikTokers), but the style itself is definitely worth considering for your next hairstyle. Ask your hairstylist for a textured cut, shorter at the front and longer at the back. The wolf cut is all about the volume, texture and layers, and it can be more shaggy or mullet-y, depending on your preference. It’s usually worn with a fringe – anything goes, from baby bangs or a full textured fringe to long shaggy curtain bangs. Need some inspo to show your stylist? Look no further.
